About AquaFence AS
Each year floods are responsible for enormous economic damage world-wide. AquaFence AS is a company developing and offering systems for flood protection.

Since 1997 AquaFence has worked on development and improvement of flood protection systems in cooperation with the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB) and Innovation Norway - with additional support from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE). This venture led to the establishment of AquaFence AS in 1999.

The company has developed flood protection systems which are patent protected in Norway and internationally. The products are highly competitive with respect to price, and they have many benefits over alternative medium and large scale flood protection solutions, such as the traditional sandbag wall.

AquaFence's R&D and production takes place in Tønsberg, Norway.

AquaFence also has strong co-operation with SINTEF's department for technology (The Foundation for Scientific and Industrial Research at the Norwegian Institute of Technology).

The Board: Kjell Sletsjøe, Chairman.
Members of the Board: Rune Hogsnes, Mikkel Lauritzen, Sverre Hollie and Michael Juuhl.

Enabling flood defence
on a large scale

An innovative logistical approach to the use of AquaFence, which is currently in the planning stages in Scandinavia, is for a group of municipalities in flood risk areas to pool resources and share the initial cost and logistical responsibilities of holding AquaFence as the area’s main flood defence. However, the low lifetime cost of AquaFence makes it available to almost any authority, organisation or company in need of effective flood protection.

Enabling flood defence
through financing
Well aware of the budget concerns of organisations responsible for flood protection in the UK and across Europe, AquaFence is able to organise reasonable finance to qualifying candidates. AquaFence is global, working with leading flood protection products' specialists, see our contact us page, for more details of our contacts around the world.

About AquaFence
AquaFence provides countless benefits over traditional flood protection methods and is set to become the long term standard for cost effective emergency preparedness.

AquaFence is designed to be easy to store and set-up at short notice with cost effective initial investment and is therefore ideally suited as the budgetary and logistical solution for organisations tasked with long-term emergency preparedness.

By being completely re-useable and offering a life-span of decades, AquaFence addresses long term budget considerations and can be viewed as a final solution for flood protection.

AquaFence is a proven system designed for large areas at risk of repeated flooding. It is generally used away from property, for river banks and sea defence, although its flexible design means an AquaFence flood barrier can be used almost anywhere, for instance in gateways.

AquaFence is used for creating flood barriers in the range of just a few metres up to kilometres long, and is actually suitable for protecting whole streets and towns.

It has been proven that a ten man team can deploy a 100m AquaFence flood barrier in an hour.

AquaFence can be used in conjunction with a small concrete foundation, to give the elements purchase as the flood water arrives.

In areas where there is a risk of heavy floating debris, a specially designed debris shield can be fitted.

All fixtures are physically attached to the AquaFence element so there is no chance of anything being lost and

The slim-line nature of a folded AquaFence element makes it easy to transport with the added benefit that minimum storage space is needed.
