See The Next Generation Of Flood Protection
In Action At The Tees Barrage Aquafence Demonstration
Joint demonstration of unique demountable flood protection with leading UK specialist, Total Flood Solutions
Due to the fast rising demand for flood protection in the UK the proven AquaFence flood protection system will be demonstrated once again at the Tees Barrage, Stockton-on-Tees, on 29th – 30th
October 2008. Key figures from UK insurance companies, local
authorities and the Environment Agency will attend the demonstration,
which takes place at the most spectacular and practical flood
control demonstration site in the UK.
Over 55,000 homes were
flooded in the UK in 2007 with an estimated insurance cost
of £3.5 billion. With such a huge financial drain on the UK economy caused by flooding, flood protection is high on the agenda for insurance companies and other organisations tasked with emergency response and cleaning up after a flood. Total Flood Solutions, the UK distributor of AquaFence is dedicated to providing flood protection systems for all eventualities and has chosen to champion AquaFence in the UK as it believes in the high quality, effective and simple operation that this unique Norwegian solution offers.
“Flooding is a huge problem throughout the UK, and one that we are dedicated to solving. We reviewed every demountable flood protection system on the market and chose AquaFence as part of our range simply because it is the best such system available,” says Neil McDermid, Total Flood Solutions. “AquaFence compliments our existing portfolio of flood protection solutions as it ensures that we can offer a long term, demountable system for local authorities and private business looking to protect large areas from flooding.”
AquaFence is a proven system designed to protect areas of just a few metres up to a number of kilometres, at risk of repeated flooding, for instance, farms, whole streets and towns. It is generally used away from property, for river banks and sea defence, although its flexible design means an AquaFence flood barrier can be used almost anywhere, for instance in gateways.
“We are pleased to be part of Total Flood Solutions’ product line in the UK and are completely confident of the AquaFence design and manufacture, which is why we are willing to put the system under such a demanding test in public at the Tees Barrage,” comments Helge Krøgenes,
Chairman, AquaFence A/S.

Editor’s note – Invitation to
AquaFence
Demo
As warnings of increased
flooding occur daily, insurance companies, local authorities,
businesses and utility companies are looking for a cost
effective and failsafe method of controlling flood water.
AquaFence provides this and journalists are invited to
see for themselves at the demo event taking place at
the Tees Barrage on 29th – 30th October
2008. The live demo starts at 10:30am on Thursday 30th
October.
Journalists of all backgrounds
with an interest in the environment or local flooding
issues are welcomed to attend the demo, which will show
how AquaFence works in real flooding situations, using
