AquaFence
is based on technology developed and tested in Norway,
in cooperation with the University of Life Sciences. The
systems are approved by The Norwegian Water Resources and
Energy Directorate (NVE), as well as flood protection authorities
in several other countries.

AquaFence Semi
The revolutionary transportable
flood barrier AquaFence Semi is quick and easy to install
in flood threatened areas. A team of 10 people can install
about 100 meters per hour.
Each flood barrier module
consists of two boards in compact flat packs, which are lifted
into place after transportation to the location. The construction
is stabilised by water pressure when the flood arrives.
Standard AquaFence Semi
is constructed to tolerate water heights from 75 cm - 210 cm. The mobile flood barrier has a very high safety factor.
It can also be used as protection from waves, water flows
and high tides.

Bespoke
Installation
Although the standard AquaFence dimensions are suitable
for most possible flood events, the system has been designed
so that custom solutions are easy to provide.
AquaFence can be supplied to almost any dimension required by the environment
in which it will be used and the previous flooding history. |

Hard
foundation
On hard ground installation, it is preferable to prepare the AquaFence
flood barrier by laying a small, unobtrusive foundation. This can be
made from concrete or another firm foundation like asphalt, pavement
or paving stone. If required, the flood barrier may have a membrane integrated
between the barrier and the ground, to avoid water leakage through the
ground. This geomembrane can be added to the order. Concrete bases can
be made by AquaFence national partners or our engineers can instruct
your chosen construction company.
Once in place, the foundation will mark out the path that
AquaFence needs to take around the property in order to
protect it from flood water. Prior to a flood event it
makes deployment of the AquaFence flood protection barrier
very straight forward and during the flood it helps to
secure the AquaFence elements to the ground, ensuring that
no flood water can pass no matter how much pressure it
puts on the barrier or how fast moving it is.
There are many unique and innovative ways that the foundation
can be built to ensure that it is completely unobtrusive
and that it blends in perfectly with the surrounding environment.

Hard
Foundation For Dykes and Sea Walls
The AquaFence flood protection solution is a serious option for dyke
heightening. IJB-Groep and BCC B.V. and AquaFence have developed a new
prefabricated concrete base for AquaFence to sit and be highly secure
on top of dykes and sea walls. The toughened construction will not tilt
and does not require deep incisions into the concrete of the dyke to
be fitted.
In order to install the concrete base quickly and easily,
a new machine has been developed that digs into the dyke
in 2 steps, so that the elements of the concrete base
just have to be placed into it. The various elements
are sealed with rubber between each other to ensure there
is no water ingress into the structure of the dyke itself. |
