Details about the AquaFence FloodWall panel
The AquaFence Flood Mitigation System is the result of 30 years of advanced engineering, hydrodynamic research and continuous product development. Built on proprietary patented technology, AquaFence is purpose-engineered to perform under demanding hydraulic conditions. AquaFence does not wait for disasters to prove its products. We test FloodWall systems in simulated floods and real-world drills, using wave tanks, pressure tests and rapid deployment exercises to identify any issue before an actual flood event. Every new model and custom configuration is evaluated to support higher reliability, repeatable deployment and a built-in safety margin for people, property and business continuity.

APPROVALS, CERTIFICATIONS AND RECOGNITION
Independent proof that supports the decision
AquaFence has undergone third-party laboratory testing, full-scale load simulations, theoretical validation and real-world deployments.
FM Approvals
AquaFence V1200, V1800 and V2100 FloodWall systems are certified perimeter barriers under the Flood Mitigation Certification Program and carry the FM Approved mark.
Certification is based on ANSI/FM 2510 testing of system performance, components and materials under demanding flood conditions, including water pressure, flow and impact.
This independent certification provides owners, engineers, insurers and public authorities with recognized evidence that AquaFence has been evaluated against rigorous requirements for temporary perimeter flood barriers and documented for reliable performance in real-world flood protection applications.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
AquaFence has undergone flood-barrier testing associated with the U.S. national testing and certification program developed with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Association of State Floodplain Managers and FM Approvals.
The program uses rigorous protocols for temporary perimeter barriers, including hydrostatic pressure, moving water, wave effects and debris-impact conditions.
AquaFence’s participation provides independent technical evidence of performance under demanding and realistic flood-loading scenarios, giving owners, engineers and public agencies a stronger basis for evaluating the system as part of critical flood-resilience projects.

ANSI/FM 2510
ANSI/FM 2510 is the American National Standard used to evaluate flood mitigation equipment, including temporary perimeter flood barriers.
The standard addresses system performance as well as the durability and reliability of critical components and materials under defined flood-loading conditions. AquaFence V1200, V1800 and V2100 are listed as certified perimeter barriers under the independent Flood Mitigation Certification Program.
This gives owners, engineers, insurers and authorities a consistent technical benchmark for assessing AquaFence against recognized performance requirements rather than relying solely on manufacturer claims or unverified field experience.

ASFPM / FMCP Listed
AquaFence V1200, V1800 and V2100 are listed as certified perimeter barriers by the Flood Mitigation Certification Program.
The program was developed through collaboration between the Association of State Floodplain Managers, FM Approvals and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to create a credible national framework for evaluating flood-mitigation products.
AquaFence systems are assessed against ANSI/FM 2510 requirements, providing owners, engineers, floodplain managers and public agencies with an independent and recognized basis for comparing certified barrier performance, durability and suitability for temporary flood-protection applications.

BuildingGreen Top 10 Products
BuildingGreen selected AquaFence Flood Barriers as one of its Top 10 Green Building Products for 2024.
The recognition highlighted deployable and reusable flood protection as an alternative to resource-intensive temporary measures such as sandbags and, in suitable applications, more material-intensive permanent solutions.
For owners, architects and resilience planners, the selection provides independent recognition of AquaFence’s contribution to climate adaptation, resource efficiency and lower-waste flood protection. It also reinforces the value of a durable system designed for repeated use rather than disposal after each flood event.

FEMA/NFIP Dry Floodproofing
AquaFence can be incorporated into dry-floodproofing strategies for eligible non-residential buildings designed under FEMA and National Flood Insurance Program requirements.
Compliance is determined at the project level and depends on the applicable flood elevation, structural design, flood loads, deployment procedures and professional certification. AquaFence supports this process with site-specific engineering, deployment planning, training and technical documentation.
Where required, signed and sealed calculations and emergency action procedures can be provided to help owners, architects and engineers demonstrate a complete, properly engineered flood protection strategy.

ASCE/SEI Standards
AquaFence systems can be engineered for projects designed in accordance with ASCE 7 and ASCE/SEI 24, two key U.S. standards governing structural flood loads and flood-resistant design and construction.
ASCE 24-24 includes provisions addressing flood barriers and references ANSI/FM 2510 testing for specified applications.
AquaFence therefore provides architects and engineers with a tested deployable barrier platform that can be incorporated into code-driven flood-resilience designs. Final compliance remains project-specific and is determined by the engineer of record and the authority having jurisdiction.

ICC / Building Code Integration
The International Building Code establishes requirements for flood-resistant construction and references ASCE 24 for buildings and structures in flood hazard areas.
AquaFence can be incorporated into code-compliant dry-floodproofing strategies where deployable protection is permitted and the project satisfies applicable structural, operational, deployment and documentation requirements.
This allows architects and engineers to integrate a tested temporary flood-barrier system into a broader site-specific resilience design. Final acceptance depends on the applicable code edition, project conditions, engineer of record and local authority having jurisdiction.

TUHH Testing
Hamburg University of Technology independently evaluated AquaFence under hydrostatic, hydrodynamic and impact loading as part of extensive performance testing.
The barrier was subjected to demanding conditions designed to represent real flood forces, including sustained water pressure, moving water, wave effects and impact loading. The testing documentation characterized AquaFence’s performance as excellent and supports a minimum lifecycle of 60 separate deployments.
These results provide additional evidence of the system’s durability, reusability and ability to maintain reliable performance through repeated installation, loading and storage cycles over many years.
