The Story: Securing Honda’s Celaya Facility from Flood Risks
At Honda's manufacturing facility in Celaya, Mexico, flood protection is a critical concern due to its proximity to vulnerable areas. Ensuring the safety of key operations and maintaining smooth logistics during unpredictable weather events was a top priority. The challenge? Protecting the entrances to the security checkpoint buildings—key access points that must remain functional and safe, even during a flood.
Recognizing the need for quick deployment and a seamless solution, Honda turned to AquaFence for an integrated flood protection system. AquaFence designed and delivered a drop-in place flood barrier system that could be quickly installed, providing robust protection against floodwaters while allowing the checkpoint buildings to remain operational without interruption.
The Challenge: Securing Critical Access Points from Flooding
The project faced several challenges:
Protection of two vital security checkpoint buildings that required reliable flood protection for uninterrupted operations.
Minimal disruption to the facility’s daily operations, as the flood barriers needed to be quick and easy to deploy.
A system that could be installed in a short time frame to quickly address the flood risks when required.
The Solution: Efficient, Drop-in Place Flood Barriers
AquaFence provided the following tailored solution:
V2100 (7’) FloodWall system was deployed across the entrances to the security checkpoint buildings.
Two sections totaling approximately 44 linear feet of flood protection were installed to ensure comprehensive coverage.
The system was designed for quick deployment, with a 4-person team able to set it up in about 1 hour, ensuring the protection could be in place quickly whenever needed.
The Results: Effective Flood Protection for Honda’s Celaya Facility
Thanks to AquaFence’s flood protection solution, Honda’s Celaya facility benefited from:
Reliable flood protection for the security checkpoint entrances, ensuring continuous operations even during heavy rainfall or flood events.
Quick and easy deployment, allowing the facility to respond rapidly to flood risks without disrupting security or business functions.
Seamless integration of the V2100 FloodWall system with Honda's infrastructure, providing robust protection with minimal impact on the site’s aesthetics and logistics.
Enhanced flood resilience, ensuring the facility remained operational without the risk of water intrusion during storm events.
AquaFence’s drop-in flood barrier system provided Honda in Celaya, Mexico with the peace of mind that their critical access points were protected, while enabling rapid response to future flooding risks.
