The Story: Nestlé’s Swift Response to Flooding Challenges
In 2011, Nestlé faced severe flooding risks across multiple factories in Thailand, with some already submerged and others on the brink of flooding. The company needed a quick, flexible flood protection solution to safeguard its operations while maintaining the ability to move the system to different sites as needed.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation and the potential disruption to their production lines, Nestlé turned to AquaFence for a reliable, efficient solution that could be deployed quickly, even in already flooded areas. AquaFence worked closely with Nestlé to analyze the best solutions and install a flood defense system capable of protecting the factories from further damage.

Use of a barge and sea cable system to lower the flood barriers into place, ensuring effective protection despite the challenging conditions.
Tailored support with AquaFence engineers working alongside Nestlé to analyze the optimal solution and ensure successful installation under tight timelines.
The Results: Faster Recovery and Early Factory Reopening
Thanks to AquaFence’s innovative flood defense solution, Nestlé achieved:
Reopening of the flooded factory three months earlier than others that had been impacted by similar flooding.
Minimal operational disruption, as the flexible, rapid deployment system provided immediate protection and allowed production to resume faster.
